Beware the well trimmed hedge.
The immaculate lawn.
There is something sinister in such things.
A type of slavery.
It has become such a part of our psyche
that many have fooled themselves.
They believe they enjoy it.
Get a feeling of accomplishment.
Too long ago to remember, for most,
these rituals were born.
A form of enslavement
created to keep the mind busy.
To keep the muscles working.
To occupy and stupify.
And then after all of this futility
we are still blind to the true meaning of the sign that reads:
KEEP OFF THE GRASS.
